GBNFC at The Chinnbrook Centre
The centre is based on the junction of Trittiford and Chinnbrook Roads in Billesley, Birmingham. It opened in 2001 as the first Surestart Children’s Centre in the West Midlands. From September 2016 it became GBNFC at The Chinnbrook Centre.
The setting provides full day care 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday for children aged 2-5 years, over 48 weeks of the year.
A variety of funded sessions for 2, 3 and 4 years are available as well as fee paying wrap around / day care options. Please call us for more information and to get a copy of our funding booklet.
The centre has set closure weeks which consist of one week at Christmas, one week at Easter, and two weeks in the summer holidays. All dates will be provided to you at the point of enquiry.
The setting benefits from a sensory room, a decked, under-cover outdoor area as well as a large play area.
The main nursery area is split in to two age groups 2-3 year olds and 3-5 years old.
Our approach for learning is to create for our children an environment that inspires, is exciting and will engage them in their own learning each and every day. The Nursery has a large open environment which provides a rich, varied and safe space in which children can play, explore and learn. This will contribute greatly to children’s learning and development. The environment is child-centered in that the environment is adapted to the interests of the children. The environment uses authentic and real life objects for children to experience allow them to experience what things really feel like such as plates, cups ad tea pots, giving them the time to learn how to look after things and how things should be treated and that extends to the people around them.
Manager Statement
My name is Amaani. I have been in the childcare sector for over twenty years. My career to date has enabled me to gain a vast amount of experience teaching nursery school children. An affinity and love for teaching have resulted in positive observations and an ease in terms of creating a genuine rapport with the children I care for. My experiences, both academically and practically, have enabled me to develop an eclectic understanding of how to nurture children towards their full educational potential. Possessing strong communication and interpersonal skills, I relish communicating with children and their parents in order to make the learning process more effective, streamlined, and fulfilling.
This extent of experience has led me to develop a strong belief that children learn best when they are having fun and are engaged in practical, real-life experiences. I also believe that strong relationships with parents and the wider community are vital in ensuring that children are supported as they move through their school lives.
I am very passionate and committed to delivering high-quality care for all the children. Chinnbrook is a true home-to-home setting. We provide children aged 2–5 with the very best care and education in a warm and friendly environment where children are nurtured and encouraged to reach their own individual potential. Our homey environment is familiar to young children, enabling them to settle quickly and develop positive relationships from the outset. As early childhood professionals, we encourage an environment in which young children can grow and develop physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually, but most of all, have fun while learning. With such a welcoming atmosphere and a devoted, passionate team, we help children feel safe, secure, and treasured throughout their nursery journey.
I believe in the importance of working together with parents and carers to provide the very best for every individual child in our setting. As a team, we believe working with parents creates the best and safest environment for children, where they are free to explore their curiosity. We recognise parents as the child’s first educator, so we really value the thoughts, information, and support that you provide. We strive to ensure that your child has a great learning experience.
